VitalSaenz Productions is an organization started to create alternative theater entertainment with the goal of bringing stories to audiences in innovative ways.

We are an anti-racist organization and are dedicated to including at least 50% people of color or alternative populations (LGBTQIA+, disabled) in our membership. We are working to make high quality and professional art in a collaborative and cooperative way.

MICHAEL López Sáenz

ARTISTIC DIRECTOR/Producer

Michael López-Sáenz is a Boston area theater artist and educator. He is an actor, director, producer, playwright and teacher. He has worked off-Broadway as a performer, director, playwright and producer and in New York City as a teaching artist. He currently teaches high school theater on the North Shore. He is also the author of “The Thousand Natural Shocks,” a novel that has been adapted for the screen, the stage and currently as a serial podcast. He is excited to be creating art with his husband of nine years (twenty altogether), and to be creating art in the town of Lowell.

A Crime in a Madhouse

or, The Diabolical Ones

On the eve of her release from an insane asylum housed in a convent, young Louise begs to be released without spending one last night there. The doctor will not let her go, insisting that no harm will come to her by spending one last night. But Louise fears the woman from Normandy and the hunchback, her two roommates who have taken an obsessive interest in her…especially her eyes. And what of the mysterious One Eye, unseen and supposedly paralyzed in the next room? As the night comes Louise’s fear builds.
